What are introductory Exercise, health and fitness courses?
Exercise, health and fitness courses at an introductory or at level 1. They provide the basic underpinning knowledge of exercise that you will need to progress onto a fitness instructing and eventually personal training or other advanced level qualifications.
Do I need to start from here if I have zero knowledge of health and fitness?
In short: No. The introductory courses are for those who would like to build a foundation level knowledge of health and fitness. If you are looking to gain some knowledge on how to eat well, improving your own fitness or basic training programs. However, you’re not looking to become a full on fitness instructor or other health and fitness professional.
What can I do with these qualifications?
You can improve your own fitness, gain an insight into fitness instructing, develop and perfect the skills you will need to gain employment.
It will allow you to move onto other courses at level 2 (for example, fitness instructor courses)
What will I learn?
You will learn about how the body works which will lead onto training program design, planning exercise for children. Furthermore, you will also learn how about different diets and training systems.
You will also learn a range of practical and theory based units that includes; How the body works, improving own fitness, taking part in exercise and fitness and planning own fitness programs. You will also follow our unique blended learning model.
The course is designed to adapt to your learning style and pace. You’ll be well on your way in less than 6 weeks. Our goal is not to get you qualified asap, our goal is to make sure you leave us with the knowledge and training to succeed as a fitness instructor.
Our qualified teachers will use a range of assessment methods to help you develop you skills. E-portfolio’s, professional discussions and coursework.
